How can corporate spokespeople talk for science?

So these major corporations - Monsanto for example - are legally obliged to maximise shareholder wealth. That's the law.
So people contracted to these same corporations that are heard in the media are not being objective. They are speaking in the interests of the corporation.

Inherently they are not objective and should not be spokespeople for science.

Or did I miss something in this logic?
